In 2009, Rob joined the U.S. Marine Corps straight out of High School. After graduating from Boot Camp, he was sent to Basic Infantry Training, followed by Artillery School in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. After his initial training, Rob spent the next four years on Camp Hansen (Okinawa, Japan), where he had the opportunity to participate in the Joint Special Operations Task Force – Philippines. Subsequently, he was deployed to Iraq. Afterwards, he spent three years dedicated to the retention and career progression of junior and senior enlisted Marines at Marine Corps Air Station (Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii). Rob then returned to Japan, where he was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station (Iwakuni, Japan). During his time there, he travelled around the Pacific in support of the Marine Corps’ mission to South Korea, Guam, Australia, and throughout Japan. This continued until his Honorable Discharge in 2019.
During his service, Rob received numerous awards, including the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, and the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with one bronze star. Additionally, he received the Iraq Campaign Badge, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with a silver and bronze star.
