However, when tested in actual homes over five months with voluntary participants, professional-grade baits consistently outperformed consumer products. The staggered application of professional gel baits led to significantly lower cockroach populations compared to consumer options, with Hot Shot containerized bait stations being the most effective among the consumer-grade products.
